Everyone must take extra care in the preservation of our canals by not disposing of any type of waste into the canals. No paint, household cleaners, motor oil, animal feces, construction materials or grass clippings should be disposed of in the canals.
When enjoying the canals by boat, please be considerate by not causing a wake. Wakes can damage bulkheads. Consequently, it is very important that your carport and lower levels are kept free of items that can become flying missiles.
Keeping this area free of clutter throughout the year will also lessen your preparation time for possible hurricane evacuation.
A visit with the Building Inspector may keep you from violating a building code or city ordinance. Any installations of concrete driveways, fences, carports, etc. For an explanation of this procedure, the Building Inspector will assist you.
